The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE)

African Medical Center of Excellence

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a 170-bed specialty hospital offering world-class comprehensive diagnostics and treatment in oncology, cardiovascular services, haematology, and general medical and surgical services. It is complemented by research and education facilities.

AMCE provides exceptional medical care to people on the  African continent, regardless of their financial means.

Backed by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in clinical partnership with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, AMCE Abuja is the first of five such hospital, research, and education centres planned for development on the African continent.

The African Medical Centre of Excellence is being implemented in four phases over five years, and has commenced operations with a 170-bed specialist hospital that will later be expanded to a 500-bed facility, with the capacity to provide services to more than 200,000 patients in Nigeria and another 150,000 patients from neighbouring West African countries within its first five years of operation.

The institution is a beacon of hope for the future of healthcare in Africa and has within its first few months of operation become the employer and healthcare provider of choice across West Africa.
